Yellow Duckie Baby Shower Favors

Well, Life happens, and Boy!!! When it does, you get caught in a toggle war of difficulties. I have been SO busy, I haven't had a small window of opportunity to sit and enjoy myself, sip a cup of coffee, and post pictures of all this cute ideas for everyone to enjoy.

This little cute party favors were created for the baby Shower, (invitations posted in previous entry) of another friend. This idea is specially great for an outdoor party like this one is going to be. All decorated with blue and yellow balloons, in a park, near a lake, and the theme, Yellow Duckies!!!! everywhere...

More invitations

This cutie is for my cousins Baby Shower, she had no idea what them to do her Baby shower, and I picked and combined this graphic to match the decorations of the Baby's room and the bedding set, she picked for the baby. She fell in love with it immediately, and we are making the whole shower to match the Baby's room decor!!!

Duckies, Duckies every where, my table looked like a duck farm for a while, I made this invitations for another Baby Shower, My friend is doing her Baby shower in a park, and she is having a baby boy. I suggested for her to use little ducks, in the invitation and the decorations, they are the perfect theme for a Baby Shower in the park, plus Blue and yellow look great together. Also, I was dying to try the cricut die cut of the little duck!!!!Soon I will post the party favors for both Baby showers, and some pictures of my cousins Baby showers, since I will be hosting it and presenting the games!!! I love the games!!!

WOW WOW WUBBZY

It's been a while since I posted my last blog, I have been so busy, and I love it!!! Last week I finished doing the decorations for a 2 year old Birthday, I had wished they picked Nemo as their theme, but Wubbzy was the choice. I found myself creating this yellow character from scratch...Of course I always count on dear mom to help, I am the designer and she is the creator when it comes to decorations. Here is what we came out with. This were the centerpieces, they were so cute, and the size was huge, Wubbzy came out to be the same height as the Birthday Boy!!

The cake decoration included a couple of Wubbzy's friends and the famous purple trees, and of course a little ball(wubbzy loves to play ball)

I also made party favors and decorated a big chocolate chip cookie basket of lollipops with the theme. In a 4x4 cardboard box, I place a do it yourself (decorate yourself) plastic cup. I printed several plain papers with wubbzy's coloring pages for the children to color , and scale them down to fit in the cup, I also included crayolas in the little box, and a full color and personalized cover for the cup. This served as a birthday activity and a party favor as well.

A big box with Chocolate Chip "Cookie pops", as I call them, served as a decoration and party favors, and we all know how much our kids enjoy cookies.

Sweet Sixteen

These are the colors , my costumer chose for her Sweet Sixteen Invitations. I had to designed something using black, white, red. I already had cardstock in these colors, but I wanted something with a pattern. Something that will make the design of the invitation more interesting. I found this lovely black and white paper from Doodle Bug Design, and absolutely fell in love with it. It had tehcolors that I needed and the pattern was very feminine. So now that I had all my papers together, I started brainstorming as to how I was going to combine them .

I always like to offer several options and let my costumer decide which one they like best. I always keep in mind my costumers' budget, and design something according to it.

These were the three designs I came up with. I combine all the different card stock and pattern papers, and also added a touch of silver . Three flowers with an acrylic crystal in the center , and couple of brads to hold my printed vellum and a silver elastic string were my embellishments.

Black card stock was cut to 9 x 4 inches

Red card stock was cut to 8.75 x 3.75 inches

The white and the printed velum were both cut at 3.50 x 8.50 inches

A lot of my invitations have this style, is not the only ones I do, but this style looks very elegant and you get a lot out of the 12x12 if that's what you are working with.

I created an embellishment with the pattern paper, I layered some of the solid colors and used the patter black and white last. I opened two tiny holes on the card stock and use a silver elastic string to tie this around the invitation. This way the embellishment can be easily slip on and off. I finish decorating it with the 3 flowers.

Fort his sample I did a red cover 8x9 inches and folded at 4 inches. On the inside of the invitation I used some corner punches on the white card stock only, to let the black one shoe. I did the same embellishment and in this case it helps keep the invitation closed.

Gabie's Composition Notebooks

Kindergarten here we come!!!.

We have waited two extra days to start school, Fay the clumsy storm has messed with us a little bit, and has kept our little ones waiting impatiently to start school. Notice how I say this sarcastically, because my little one has really enjoyed staying home the extra days.

In my continuous effort to motivate her, I have done many of the necessary and not so important things for her to have a great experience in Kindergarten. So, besides buying her the mandatory uniform, and the not so important collection of High school musical book bag, lunch bag, water bottle, pencils, folders and many more, I decided we could decorate those funny looking composition notebooks. She was super excited and couldn't  wait to see the finished results. Unfortunately, she had to go to bed, and will only get to see them tomorrow.

I wasn't sure about it at first, because I didn't know if the teachers were going to object to it, but I did it anyways. I kept a backup, just in case, and also decided to keep the same color background, just to keep it looking like a composition notebook.

Simple enough, I collected my supplies, and took out my #1 friend in the scrapbooking world, The Champion of MY heart" ... My XYRON, machine...

I used a black and white pinstripe paper,  ( to keep the similar background) and some cute school related stickers by Me and my Big Ideas, and Sandylion. I will wait to see if the teachers allow her notebooks to be decorated, and if so, I will then get really creative. For now, this will do, Hopefully Gabie will like them too.

Just wanted to share these....

I fell in love with this cute invitations when I saw them in the Sizzix website, and wanted to share them with everyone, and of course I can't wait to start making my own variation of these. I will post some of mine soon. Also I am in the process of planing a huge Birthday Party, and my friend is debating between two themes, Nemo and WoW, WOW WubbZY !!!!, I Hope she chooses Nemo, my mind is filling up with thousands of great ideas. Can't wait to start working on those invites....

It's just what I love.... Bazzill Bling...

I have experimented with all sorts of different papers,
I Love vellum, handmade papers, cardstock, texture cardstock,
many different brands, and I still can't get over how beautiful
everything looks when I use Bazzill.
It's so perfect in every sense, It has the right thickness
to be folded (for my cards, little boxes, etc...) and so many
different colors and textures to play with, I have been in love
with it since it first arrived in the scrapbooking stores.
My favorite is the bling, it has the right amount of sparkle,
to make any handmade card, page layout, or even party favors.



This are invitations I made for a 15th Birthday Party. The theme was Cinderella, and the Bazzill Bling Cardstock came in 1st Place when I was choosing the paper for this invites. With it's  perfect amount of sparkle, the invitations turned  out like they came out of a fairytale.




A cardstock flower embellished with a small crystal, was used as part of the decoration, and at the same time, it kept the invitation closed, when the silver cords were nicely tied around it.





I always use vellum to print out all my invitations, it gives them that extra special touch of elegance.

Matching Party Favors and Decorations

To continue with the theme of the Invitation (Baby Clothes), I created a centerpiece made with a large galvanized tub, with wooden sticks I made the clothesline, handmade little Baby clothes, and a tiny teddy bear was used as accent in most decorations. The chocolate bars were personalized, in the back with the mom, and dad's name and also the Baby Shower's date. This was also 3 dimensional and hand decorated.The cake topper, was made also using the same galvanized aluminum tub, but in a much smaller scale, and for this one I used a handmade cold porcelain Baby, surrounded by bubbles, tiny rolled towels, and miniature decorations.

My very first invitation
